FAQS

A Montessori nursery fosters independence, curiosity, and self-directed learning from an early age. Unlike traditional nurseries, Montessori environments are specifically designed to support the natural development of a child’s cognitive, social, and motor skills.

The Montessori method encourages children to explore at their own pace, offering a more personalised learning experience. This approach contrasts with the often structured, one-size-fits-all model of traditional nurseries, allowing each child to thrive according to their unique developmental needs.

You are most welcome to bring your child to an Open Day.

We support the transition to school in many ways, including:

  • liaising with teachers in the schools and welcoming them to meet the children in our environments
  • sharing any relevant information (subject to parental consent) to facilitate a smooth transition,

In addition, each year we give a talk for parents on ‘Supporting the transition to School’.

Over the years we have had positive feedback from schools about the children’s well-developed social skills, and about their ability to concentrate and persevere, their curiosity, independence and joy of learning.

Children leaving our nurseries typically move on to local state and private schools, including:

Belleville, Bonneville, Broomwood, Clapham Manor, Dolphin School, Eaton House, Heathbrook, Macaulay, Newton Prep, Parkgate House, St Mary’s, The White House and Thomas’s Clapham, to name a few.

WHAT OUR PARENT SAY

My oldest daughter was in Clapham Park Montessori and it is a very special place. I cannot wait for my son to start. It is the most genuine environment I have ever seen and my children thrived there.

ANN B

All the teachers clearly love what they do and very much make the wellbeing and learning experience of the children their priority. The teachers treat every child as an individual and give them the support they need to follow their own interests, to discover and learn at their own pace and to flourish.
